he snoozes when ashlyn snoozes. it's like clock-work. cracks me up)

yup, we've got the Joy, Joy, Joy

down in our hearts today.

i've come to realize that i'm in a phase of

life where i've been blessed tremendously to be able

to experience what it is like to have

JOY plop in my lap

every single day
(literally... plop)

I've got a furry friend
who lays in my lap anytime i sit on the floor

(all 80 lbs. of him, might i add)
and licks my hand and thumps his tail.
he's hugging me, the only way he knows how.
it may be while i'm playing with Ashlyn
or watching tv
or fiddling with a project
or just plain exhausted.
he doesn't care.
he just wants to give a hug and a kiss.
and i gladly take it. :-)

my other toddler friend
gives me hugs and kisses too (just not as willingly)
but mostly brings me JOY
by just being her and going thru our everyday routine.
sometimes it's by singing a song she makes up as she is riding in her car seat
about going to the grocery store
or picking up daddy's clothes at the dry cleaners.
(yes, she sings about everything)
or
her laughing at me be goofy
or
when she talks to her dolls
or
telling me my hair is sooooo purdy (even when it's not)

I know this is a

SEASON

it won't last forever.

i see why, folks tend to want more children

at this point.

it's nice to have so much JOY

every single day without even looking for it.

it's crazy!

I can now grasp how people feel when their kids

go off to grade school

or even worse... COLLEGE! (gulp)

It will be a new phase of life.

a new Season.

joy will come in new shapes and sizes.

new things will make me smile

GOD made a joyful journey for

EVERYone.

It may be a little harder to find

at some points in life.

But, it's there.

I hope I can always find mine.

and i hope you can too.

(ashlyn is determined to take remington on a "walk" around the house.
she has her princess purse and necklace on and is telling the dog they

are going to the library.

He's less than thrilled about this idea and is trying to politely lick
the leash off.)
