Tee-Tee , Tea Parties
and
Great Conversations

yes, you read that right.

A lot happens when you turn 2!
You start to talk and listen and pay attention to EVERYthing!

Conversations start Flowing over the funniest things

especially when sitting down for "Tea" or during "Tee-Tee time"

yes, the Potty has become our friend
Ashlyn has decided she wants to be a big girl and go Tee-Tee in the potty...

like all day long.

She loves for everyone, including the dog, to come in

and converse with her as she sits

and does her duty

we talk about everything and everyone while we wait.
if you were to come over we'd probably talk about you too
and how YOU go to the potty...
i mean, you DO go to the potty right?
big topic for 2 year olds. lol.
sometimes i can toss her a book and sneak out for a minute
but soon enough i hear:
"YAY, ASHY TEE-TEE"
and she comes flying out of the bathroom

naked as a jaybird

that seems to be the theme of being two...

being naked that is.

It is exciting to see such "bloom-ing" taking place and a little heartbreaking at the same time to know she will never need me in the same ways as she use to.

(i mean, i haven't put her on the changing table in a week, and she climbs in the highchair and the car seat by herself now, too, so it feels like something is really missing during the day...a void. it's odd.)

Once this week she saw me using the scissors and said,

"Careful, Mama"

and tonight she dropped her Baby Doll and said,

"Uh-Oh, Sorry Baby Sorry!"

and then scooped her up and patted her on the back.

also today, in the car, we were listening to "Ashlyn's music" (one of her kid CD's) and she said,
"Mama's Turn"

meaning, that it was my turn to listen to "My Music" (haha- the radio).
and when i put her lunch/dinner on the table these days she says,
"Thanks Mama"

Where does all of this come from?

Such Compassion and Sweetness?

She's a new little person and to hear her thoughts and ideas is truly amazing.

So, even though I'm going to miss some of the "baby" needs she use to have (never thought I'd say that) I'm happy she is growing and changing into her own little person.
it makes me change and grow too.

i never knew i'd learn so much
from a 2 year old.
But just try having a
Tea Party
or
have some Potty Talk with them
and you'll be surprised at what you learn!
oh, and a smile or a Laugh out Loud is
GUARANTEED!

btw, this is Ashlyn's new big girl playroom...
no more tripping over the never-used treadmill...
YAY!

This is so sweet:-) Makes me almost want to cry (in a good way, of course)! She IS such a sweet little girl and growing up so quickly! How awesome to be able to sit and witness it all! Makes me so excited to see Abby as she becomes a little person with her own personality. Love it! We need to have Ashlyn hang around Abby more so some of her sweetness will rub off on Abby;-)

How bittersweet. Ashlyn is such a precious little girl - a reflection of her parents, you know. I was eying that play room trying to figure out if you changed her room up or what. It's so cute!

Oh my I sure have missed a lot of growing up haven't I??? WOW she really is turning into a little girl huh? We always knew she was the sweetest thing ever though. She gets that from her oh so wonderfully perfect and sweet as pie mommy. ; ) I LOOOOOVE her new playroom!! You did GREAT, Mommy Love! I can't wait to see it in person!! Sounds like Blake is right up there w/ Ashlyn and all the big kid stuff. Climbing in and out of his own seats. Trying to start potty training. Right in the middle of move?? Are you kidding me??? But I just LOVE watching them grow so much day by day. And you look beautiful! Ashlyn just cracks me up....the lip gloss....cleaning Remi's paws. Can't wait to give her big hugs!!
