Oh, just a little more SNOW!
I'm pretty sure something has happened to the globe.
it has altered in an uncertain way
i'm not sure what is going to happen next.
we ended up with 8 inches of snow in our driveway last week
and
NO electricity
i repeat...
NO ELECTRICITY
for 26 hours!
we were cold
from the very beginning of the snowstorm until
the next day after it was over
we had no heat.
and we missed out on all the fun outside
because we did not want to go out and get any
**colder**
but it was a
Beautiful Event
nonetheless
Daddylove got up bright and early
the next morning
to dig us out of the driveway.
we had to get somewhere warm.
quick!
i stayed inside.
i really could not take it.
these photos were not taken by me.
i'm just sayin'.
i clenched onto every blanket and warm body
that would sit by me long enough to bring a little extra heat.
if i would have gone outside to help
i'm sure i would have lost my nose
or ears or something... they felt like
they were on the verge of falling off.
but daddylove came to the rescue
and did not ask for help
so i did not offer.
i feel kinda bad now.
look at him out there all alone.
well at least he had a little team of cold noses
cheering him on at the window.
;-)
or "un-do" damage i should say.
he did his fair share of plowing through the snow.
he was in doggie heaven...
except he couldn't figure out how to go to the bathroom.
it was funny.
he just kept walking in circles.
the snow coming up to his belly.
he couldn't figure out where his feet went
or how to sniff the ground.
i could just see the puzzlement on his face.
he's easy to confuse in the first place.
so this was extra confusing, i guess you could say.
there were tree limbs snapping and cracking
throughout the storm.
it really was an amazing event to witness.
******
now don't let Remi's big brave snow dog persona fool you.
i never knew deep down this dog could ever get cold...

but i think he actually wimped out on me!
this was the first time he has ever let me wrap him in a blanket.
he would normally shake it off or bite it or sling it around
but not this day.
he gladly accepted the royal treatment.
just like a pink King would do.

A few things i learned from this experience:
*you can never have too many blankets tucked away in the house!*
*you really do need to have flash lights, candles and matches
ready at all times*
*back up batteries start beeping about 12 hours without electricity*
*things with back up batteries are:
alarm systems, verizon fios systems, Carbon Monoxide detectors
and fire detectors- (this all made for an even extra looong night)*
*things withOUT back up batteries are cell phones
(always have a car phone charger- i had not bought one yet for my new phone)
*learn how to use your fireplace... geez, that's what it's there for!*
okay, so hard lessons to learn... but i think i learned them well! ;-))

And Remi all wrapped up.....ha ha! Too cute! That's Hannah sleeps every night. She HAS to be covered up. And if the blanket comes off in the middle of the night, she wakes me up to put it back on her. Priss. What a great post tho! That part about Todd being outside by himself while you stay in and watch.....LOL!! I was laughing so hard. Shame shame on you. ; )
